I decided to stay in Pickering this time and return to Petticoat Creek Park even though the birding was not good the last time that I visited. The conditions were fine, once again, with full sun and calm winds. I really didn't expect to see much beyond robins, RWBBs and Song sparrows. True to form, the open areas were populated by robins, basking in the radiance of all that green and yellow.

The wooded section, though small, was over-run by WT sparrows. Nonetheless, I did find a B&W warbler and a female Myrtle warbler among the ground dwellers.

The north edge of the open field where shrubbery once again dominates revealed a Northern Parula and a couple of male Indigo buntings.

Note the swarm of gnats

Almost everywhere I ventured I could hear the song of the Warbling vireo. A few Baltimore oriole also came into view and one male Orchard oriole.

The bushes had a single N. parula.

Other sightings included: Am redstart (M), Myrtle (M), BT Blue (M), Catbird, RC kinglet, Least FC, and a couple of E. Kingbirds right at the edge of the bluff ... into the sun.
