Our Rose of Sharon bushes started to bloom in a big way today along with the multiple Flox's the wife has planted over the years. Around 15:30 hrs a  Hummingbird appeared and  spent some time in the yard. I was taking a break from finishing some drywall covered in dust. We have bean very busy with this construction thing since Early July.

Yeah, camera is safely in storage to avoid the dust. Family is arriving in a few days so things must be finished.

Same here.  I have a hibiscus next to the window and a few times I saw a shadow move across my peripheral vision and then it was gone.  A couple of days ago I finally saw what it was.  No, not my imagination, although it is formidable and casts its own shadow.  It was a hummingbird in the deep dark shadow of my looming imagination and the fact that the low-angled sun was blocked by the fence.  No longer having the feeder up I don't get to see many hummers.  It sounds like you haven't seen many this year either.

I saw a couple of hummers in Edwards Gardens last month. There were not many because the flowers were not in full bloom yet.

Wonder if you would move your hibiscus plant outside to give the poor hummers some treats.
