An Am. bittern was once again reported yesterday (15th) as well as several Wilson's snipe.  There is some contention whether it was a quartet, or a sextet, but either way I would like to watch them perform.  The thing is, I'm feeling unmotivated, have stuff to do, am afraid that I might sweat (heaven forbid) and feel a little queasy about burning more gas in order to stare at a dried up expanse.  I can do that just by looking into a mirror.      For all I know the snipe(s) might be a hundred meters away and merely serve as fodder for a spotting scope and of no resolve for a short-sighted camera.
