Coldest morning yet, at 7 degrees, even though I started out a little later. Once again, there was full sun and the slightest of breeze and at my spot there was no wind at all. In keeping with the previous few days there was very little bird activity and nothing new and exciting arrived on the scene. Sightings include: excluding the extras (RWBB, starlings, chickadees) - Downy x1, YBSS (juv) x3, YBSS (adult) x1, N. flicker x1, E. phoebe x1, GC flycatcher (h), RC kinglets (a few), Magnolia warbler (juv) x 1, WC sparrow (adults) x 2, Palm warbler (juv) x 1, Hermit thrush x 1, Brown creeper x2, Pileated WP (h), WT sparrows (many), Song sparrows (few), M. doves x 3, C. crows x 3, WB nuthatch x1 and kingfisher (h).
Since rain is forcast for tomorrow I will probably not venture out. Next week will be even colder with more wind. I could say frigid and turbulent but that would be bombastic. Then again, a little melodrama with a late-morning coffee is fine by me. I have the rest of the day to get serious.
