Since I was in Scarborough this afternoon I decided to visit the grounds of the Guildwood Inn, or whatever its current label might be. I haven't visited since last year. The good news is that it wasn't overrun by dog walkers and those that think their cellphone has better reception while within a park. Like the guy at Petticoat Creek Park that never took his eyes off his phone the whole time that he was there ... not once. Completely engrossed by that tiny screen. Anyway, the Guildwood was lousy with RWBBs ... they were making quite the racket. Also, there were bossy grackles. Shortly after arrival I heard the clarion call of a Carolina wren, but I couldn't locate it and it stopped calling. Ghosted by a wren! I saw three woodpeckers: Downy, Hairy and Red-bellied, but none were close. After the crappy weather that is heading our way is over I think I'll return again (next week) and see if I can find it and then get a photo.
