This morning I did a short walk on The Toronto Islands ( testing an injured foot ). I only birded Wards and Snake Islands and just viewed Snug Harbour from Wards.

There has been a movement of a few Warblers and Flycatchers down there. All seen are just about on schedule for The Islands.

Migrants - 1 Eastern Wood-Pewee, 4 Yellow-bellied Flycatchers, 3 Least Flycatchers, 6 Great Crested Flycatchers, 27 Eastern Kingbirds, all 6 Swallow species, 3 Swainson's Thrushes, Magnolia Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler and American Redstart.

Some other birds seen besides the usual suspects - Several Black-crowned night-Herons roosting thru-out, Black-billed Cuckoo ( may nest there ), Belted Kingfishers, House Wren, 4 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, 15 Warbling Vireos, 82 Cedar Waxwings, 8 Gray Catbirds, 27 Yellow Warblers, and 41 Baltimore Orioles ( Orioles, Waxwings and Yellow Warblers probably undercounted ).

It is only going to get better down there between now and late October.
