Today I tagged along with Ian Cannell and Michael Biro as Ian led a small group of Michael's birding friends and we quickly learned that the migration had picked up a little over last week and we found 9 Flycatcher and 17 Warbler species. Some in good numbers.
Flycatchers - Olive-sided, Yellow-bellied, Willow, Alder, Least, and Great-crested Flycatchers, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Eastern Phoebe and Eastern Kingbird.
Warblers - Nashville, Yellow, Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, Black-throated Blue, Yellow-rumped, Black-throated green, Blackburnian, Bay-breasted, Blackpoll, Black-and-white, Mourning, Wilson's and Canada Warblers, American Redstart, Ovenbird and Northern Waterthrush.
We also found Great Egret, Osprey, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Philadelphia, Warbling and Red-eyed Vireos, 5 Swallow species, Carolina and House Wrens, Baltimore Orioles, Scarlet Tanager and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Gray Catbirds, Brown Thrasher, and Swainson's Thrush.
