"Fall" migration has started for birds of prey.  Both Saturday and Sunday,so far, look like great conditions for a reasonable early season movement. Good Northwest winds are predicted both days.
On Monday Aug 25th,I spotted 32 birds of prey, including 3 Osprey,a Merlin,3 Kestrels,6 Redtailed Hawks,2 Coopers Hawks,10 Sharpshinned Hawks and 7 Broadwinged Hawks. I suspect  Saturday,Sunday or both could top that.

could you tell us some of the places you've seen raptors recently?

NB: I'm very new to this, so i don't know the ettiquette around asking birders to reveal their secrets! If you'd rather not say, I certainly understand.  :)

some secrets will not be revealed,    however it is common knowledge that you can see migrating raptors basically anywhere along the Lake Ontario shore in the fall, particularly on days with northwest winds

There are a number of sites that collect their results for scientific (and quasi-scientific) research.  These include the south-west corner of Cranberry Marsh in Whitby, Hawk Hill in High Park, however you get to the dilapidated viewing platform in Heber Down, and, of course, Rosetta McLean Park.

Hi Craig www.theweathernetwork.com the further out they predict the more often it changes. This weekend has changed but there should still be some birds for end of August viewing. Pick Toronto or other point U want conditions for.

Been noticing quite a few hawks in the etobicoke area this week - saw a very small hawk over the mimico library along with a falcon, as well as a giant red tailed hawk being chased by a crow over the sobey's on the queensway!
