Hey!

I put yet another feeder in my yard today. While doing so I heard a very beautiful sounding little song bird.

While circling my tree trying to find this little guy I see a large black bird soaring at  100 feet behind the house.

I immediately think Turkey vulture. Then it comes into view. No way that's a Vulture. I observed a white patch underneath.

Extremely disappointed I lost it. A few minutes later heading Southwest towards the Escarpment I observed it again and snapped a few long long distance

shots.

Not as significant but there was a red breasted nuthatch at my  black oil seed feeder today :)

Might actually be a turkey vulture given the curvature of the wings.  Bald eagles, from what I can remember, don't usually have that point when they have their wings outstretched.

sorry first image of this Juvenile Bald Eagle did not show the large projection of head in front of wings and its massive beak (it  was in powered flight). Also this bird (eagle) soared with wings straight.

I thought the under wing pattern easily id'ed the bird as a BE.

the first photo is a Juv. TV .. the second I wood gess by the long head is a Bald  Eagle ....

Are the 2008 pix of same bird? The first pic still looks like a jtv to me...but second post pix are pretty clear...but the head in both sets look different...then again, I umm....usually have no clue what I'm talking about.

ahh...then I'm a believer...my wife and I had stayed at a B & B in a small town in B.C....famous place for snowmobile accidents -- avalances....can't think of name right now...anyway, its on a small private lake...and we would canoe around this calm lake with the eagles skimming by...it was amazing...they are big birds...
