Good morning all.
This morning Ian Cannell, Margaret Liubavicius and I went down to The Islands knowing the winds and colder weather overnight and hoping for a good movement of birds and we were not in the least disappointed.
If we thought that it was amazing that we found 5 Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows on Sept. 29th then today was extra amazing with 6 Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows found ( easy walking and no rubber boots required :>)) not to mention the LeConte's Sparrow and 5 Orange-crowned Warblers, Oops ! I mentioned them. What a day and great weather again to boot and below are a sample of what we found and we only birded Hanlans Point.
Bald Eagle, Cooper's Hawk, Merlin, 36 E. Phoebes, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Brown Creepers, House Wrens, 100+ Golden-crowned Kinglets, 200+ Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Veery, Gray-cheeked and Swainson's Thrushes, 250+ Hermit Thrushes, Eastern Bluebird, Gray Catbirds, Brown Thrashers, 5 Orange-crowned Warblers, N.
