While raptor waiting(watching) at Rosetta McClain Gardens in Scarborough,Walter and I saw 2 Sandhill Cranes pass over the park around 1:15pm,from east to west. They were only just above the tree tops, through the middle of the park, offering fantastic, albeight quick viewing. This is the first fall sighting at Rosetta.
Raptor watching is winding down,we are only present when north element winds blow. Saturday we will give it a try from about 11-2. Next Tuesday onward through Friday,we will likely be present,to squeeze the last raptors of the season into our count. DRESS VERY WARM if U intend to join us. Bathrooms are CLOSED. Hot chocolate is appreciated!
Rosetta McClain Gardens is at Kingston Rd and Glen Everest Rd in Scarborough,1 stoplight east of Birchmount. The park is not maintained at this stage,so watch your step it gets slippery. One entrance is closed off to cars,so dont approach too quickly.
