I was out today with Bluffers Birder Walter on our way to the spit this morning at 9:30am when we saw what we thought was a huge hawk in a tree at Kingston RD and Main St. We drove towards the street and there was a beautiful Juv Bald Eagle right in front of us. We had the pleasure of watching it with many of the neighours for over an hour. He was very happy just resting in the tree, and scratching himself. The bald eagle was being harassed by a blue jay at the beginning and then after about an hour by a red tail hawk. Both the red tail and the bald eagle were screaming at each other. Finally the bald eagle flew away. We watched him soar for anothe 5-10 minutes above us and then he was gone. What a great way to start the day.
