Bald eagle - Cootes Paradise Marsh

Since no one even responded to my last post, I figured I'd post again saying that I saw the eagle today.  Juvenile baldie.

Couldn't get any photos because it was on the other side of some trees.  Fun time though.

I took a drive out there myself the other day but didn't see anything. I figured maybe they would be behind the woodland cemetery hanging out in the trees on the cliff there.

I was there on the 2nd as well. I saw the eagle you speak of. It was on the ice just east of olympic drive when I saw it. It was busy tearing a goose apart while several crows waited for their turn.

Over at Valley Inn Drive there were 4 more immature eagles including one also tearing a goose apart.

Over at Lasalle marina there was 1 immature and the only adult bald of the day.

The Hamilton CBC (christmas bird count) had 9 Bald Eagles for the day on the 26th.

With all those geese and swans, the eagles have alot of food to chose from. So their numbers should remain the same or get higher as the winter progresses.

How far were you from the eagles?  Sounded like a lot of fun to watch (in a non-grotesque way of course)

Of the 2 eagles tearing into Canada geese carcasses. the one at Valley in road was well out. The one in Dundas just west of Olympic Drive was about 40 feet from the shoreline.

the other 5 eagles were all fly overs
