I was there on the 2nd as well. I saw the eagle you speak of. It was on the ice just east of olympic drive when I saw it. It was busy tearing a goose apart while several crows waited for their turn.
Over at Valley Inn Drive there were 4 more immature eagles including one also tearing a goose apart.
Over at Lasalle marina there was 1 immature and the only adult bald of the day.
The Hamilton CBC (christmas bird count) had 9 Bald Eagles for the day on the 26th.
With all those geese and swans, the eagles have alot of food to chose from. So their numbers should remain the same or get higher as the winter progresses.
