I just returned from St. John's. There are a few Lesser Black-backed gulls but there was also a sighting of a Slaty-backed gull. Among the thousands of gulls of Quidi Vidi Lake ( A must-see for birders who are visiting in winter, btw ), I saw a gull that I thought was a LBBG but it had pink legs. It was smaller than many of the Herring gulls so its size puts it more in line with a LBBG. Just curious if anyone knows if LBBGs can have pink legs
