Northern Shrike Humber College Arboretum...

Greetings!
At sunset tonight I thought I saw a northern mockingbird but it turned out to be northern shrike!

There were a two small flocks of white winged crossbills, lots of cardinals, juncos, chickadees, and a pair of purple finches.

The Arboretum is behind Humber College: go through entrance A. Parking is free on weekends or after three pm during the week.

Humber College is on Humber College Blvd, two lights east of Finch and the 427.

Re parking: The arboretum is open to the public and parking is free anytime. If the attendant will not give you a pass before 3pm have him call the Nature Centre at 5009 and they will instruct him on what to do OR go see Gary Shaw at the front parking booth. Btw, I take it you did not see any owls. Weather permitting (looks good so far) I hope to be there Monday.

No owls. There is GHO that is often in the pines to the right of the stairs but it is worthwhile to check all the pines before going down into the woods or valley. According to the staff there they have had Long eared and Saw whets by the feeders.
