Finally got to Amherst Island on Saturday and saw one Snowy Owl and one Long eared. Talked to a fellow there who had seen quite a number more then us so guess I need some practise spotting them, but it was thrilling none the less.
Also had Chickadees eating out of our hands. Saw lots of common snipe, rough legged hawks, and what I realize now was the partial albino red-tail that others have talked about. Also saw two nesting Osprey on the mainland.
Hey and no one told me about the ticks!! which I discovered later much to my horror. Still it was a good day despite the rain.
