The Spring migration at Thickson’s Woods continues in earnest.
It was pleasant and sunny, this Friday morning, with several birders and nature photographers in pursuit of first-of-the-year sightings.
Among the returning species were:
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Northern Flicker (8)
Brown Creeper (2)
Winter Wren (2)
Golden-crowned Kinglet (many)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (many)
Hermit Thrush (8)
Brown Thrasher
Yellow-rumped Warbler (3)
Pine Warbler
Eastern Towhee
Savannah Sparrow
Fox Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow (many)
there was an unconfirmed report of a Worm-eating Warbler
Further west towards and including Halls Road were:

Northern Shoveler
Ring-necked Duck
Hooded Merganser
Red-breasted Merganser
Caspian Tern
Belted Kingfisher
Eastern Phoebe
Tree Swallow
Northern Rough-winged Swallow
