A first for my yard, and I have never even seen one anywhere near this town before so the purchase of the Oriole feeder paid off!
He was here early this morning, I took a few shots then ran in the house and cut some oranges to stick on the tree and make some more juice for the feeder that I had put out 2 weeks ago along with the hummer feeder. He seems to be hanging about the big spruce behind us, coming down to feed regularily. Causing quite a flurry of activity, the jays, cardinals, robins, RWBB and finches etc that are here are all flipping around the yard more than usual.
- I don't know what they look for when choosing a nesting site but the feeder is in an apple tree, we have raspberries and strawberries in the garden and a very mature grapevine always loaded with concord grapes - I hope he stays, I hope he stays (fingers crossed) :-)
