Possible Black Vulture

Last week while I was coming home I looked over by the Railway tracks at Book Road in Grimsby and I noticed a huge black bird that was a bit bigger then a Canadian Goose. It had a Grey Head and a body that was all black.

   I didn't have my camera on me at the time so I rushed home and by the time I got back it was gone. Is this a Black Vulture?

Juvi Turkey Vultures also have dark heads. Easiest way to tell is the underside pattern. Hard to describe with words, but it's much easier when you look it up in a guide book.
