I don't think the Egret eats the young of the RWB but I could be wrong.... I think though that it has to do more with local...if anything stands near the nests which is exactcly where the Egret stands to fish then yes attacks are going to happen, if I myself walk near the nests the Blackbirds tend to congregate and start aggressive churping and buzzing around but not that aggressive, funny thing is the same day at the Brickworks almost the same time I was taking the Egret pics a huge Red Tailed hawk was getting chased by about 6 RWB lol...
