On Wednesday evening, we walked in Earl Bales Park (Bathurst/Sheppard area). There weren't as many birds as we sometimes see, but we still saw some interesting things. The best sighting was the male Pileated Woodpecker flying over the park. There is a resident pair in the park. Also seen:
-a pair of Eastern Phoebes
-one male Rose-breated Grosbeak
-Great Crested Flycatcher
-Baltimore Orioles
-a Warbling Vireo
-many Barn Swallows and Chimney Swifts overhead
This weekend the park's many honeysuckle bushes should bloom, so I'm hoping some hummers will show up!
