Twice this week, I've had Ruby-throated Hummingbirds zip through my yard. I have pots of fuschia on the front porch and I'm keeping an eye on them. Last summer, I had hummers squabbling over these flowers.
I'm still seeing 1 or 2 Chimney Swifts flying over our neighbourhood. Canada Geese have flown over our area, heading toward the dam at Dufferin and Finch. I have Mourning Doves and Grackles and Goldfinches emptying the feeders in my yard. I've been noticing Flickers and Downy Woodpeckers in our yard, again. I've also been hearing the Pileated Woodpeckers that live in Earl Bales.
We live in the Bathurst-Sheppard area, which has good birding because of all the parkland around here.
