The breeding plumaged Hudonian Godwit was nicely seen this morning by a few. We observed it btwn 9:30-10:30, and it flew around and fed in all parts of the flooded field.

Please note that this section of Hall's Road can have a fair bit of traffic especially during the morning rush hour, and there's no shoulder at all to park.

Just north of the flooded field is a culvert, and there's a bit of space to park there as the shoulders are built up.

The flooded field is on the west side of Hall's Road, approx 1km north of Kingston Road.

Directions courtesy of Rayfield Pye:
exit from the 401 in Ajax. at Salem Road
go north to Kingston Road (hwy 2).
go east on Kingston Road to Halls Road in Whitby.
go north on Halls Road

Hi Kin,

Now that's exciting!!

Think we'll go try to see them tomorrow.  Thank you for the directions.

Plenty of people out to see the Hudsonian Godwit between 1 and 1:30 pm today.  He was there, but on the far side of the flooded field.

As Kin said, he flew around a bit and fed from different parts of the field ... but, stayed on the far side from the road.  Those with sufficient lens got some nice shots.

Cheers, R.
