I've been looking and looking for hummers in the nearby ravine, but wouldn't you know, one showed up in my own yard tonight. On my front porch, I have two planters full of fuschia plants. A male Ruby-throated Hummingbird checked out both, chattering at me the whole time. He had a beautiful red gorget.
