Not that much really to report here today but this post is more to bring attention BACK to the Riverdale Farm and the Necropolis area as a good location for finding migrant warblers. Someone used to post about this area on a regular basis awhile back, maybe her efforts were done more in the spring as best as I can recall. While waiting impatiently for my daughter to finish her summer day camp at the farm around noon I first heard a few warbler call notes from the ravine below the school site. I wandered down the stairs a bit without binoculars mind you but nonetheless was able to "pish in" at least 4 different warbers, 2 of which came close enough to me to ID as Chestnut-sided W. and American Redstart. The farm is located at the east end of Winchester Ave. which is just north of Gerrard and a few blocks (3 to be exact) east of Parliamant. Hopefully we'll get more reports from people who can spend a bit more time there in the near future. Unfortunately right now Alexa has even less patience than her father for chasing birds as a family event but hope springs eternal! BG
