Good day for front yard birding

Hey folks!!

We have been up here  in Simcoe County for more than a week now
yesterday all of a sudden there were tons of visitors.

Ruby throat hummingbird at the wild peas, Downy and Hairy woodpeckers at the feeder, Yellow Bellied Sapsucker,
tons of Jays, White Nuthatches, a pair of camera shy Juvenile Rose breasted Grosbeaks.  There was one bird in the grass
behind the house I could not  I.d it happened so fast.. first I thought Gray Jay but that is not possible.. I could have been a Phoebe
but I have never seen one on the grass before..

Great video (and fabulous picture)! Good capture of the Hairy Woodpeckers... and for showing they will drum at anything on hand/beak! Cannot believe you knew right away that was a Grosbeak... not sure I would have taken a second look! That'll teach me.

Also, for anyone who thinks they need to live in thick woods to experience nature's glory, it is great to see birds will be where ever they are motivated to be (trucks and all)!

I see those squirrel deterrents work really well (ha ha ha)!

Hey!! Observer,

 I changed the configuration of the blocker it seems to be working now.. They'll have it figured out again in no time

 As for the Grosbeak's, There were two earlier in the day. You saw the female, the male has first fall plumage did not show up again yesterday afternoon.

The area we are in is surrounded by very, very tall Maples & oaks mixed in with a variety of Coniferous trees. Georgian bay is 600 feet away. It is almost

rain forest like with Monsoon downpours. .

Good variety of birds and Tiny Marsh is 15 minutes South of us..
