Nesting Grebes an Hungry Beavers

I planned to make a quick bike tour of Sam Smith Park this evening and ended up staying until dusk.

South winds pushed the new Red-necked Grebe nest closer to shore.  Not close enough for great pictures, but good enough for documentary images:



These ones must have inspired the first nesters, because they have re-built their nest as well:


Also there were a couple of very large, brazen beavers:

They were really close.  I had to back up to get the whole beaver in the frame at 70mm!
