I assume its a juvenile. If someone could confirm, that would be great.

I checked out my books and google images; it looks exactly as the imature bcnh are described and what most of the google images come back as.

I saw it at the Brickworks. was incredibly camouflaged and was sitting among the reeds in a pond. i took a few pictures of it through the reeds and then i guess i spooked it, so it took off.
strange how the eye is yellow and not red like the adult eyes.

Superb photo great lens...btw it would be worth your while to head to High Park to the lower duck pond this is the one that borders the Queensway, I was there yesterday there are about 5 White Egrets and 6 or so GBH in this pond, in the trees and fishing around lots of great Photo opps...
