What a thrill to see my first Pelican!   Not the best shots as the bird was a great distance away from the viewing platform.  I initially thought I had my binoculars trained on a swan with his head submerged...realized my huge mistake when he came up for air!

I almost fell off the observation tour when it emerged ;)  I knew a pelican was there but didn't expect it to be the first bird I focused on.  It was an amazing experience, especially watching it get onto the log with the corms.  Pelicans are beautiful, but not so graceful :)
