After enjoying an hour or so with the High Park hawk-watch crew Saturday afternoon, I returned to my back yard for some late afternoon watching. I was just about to call it a day after observing about three-dozen birds when I thought I spotted a pair of bald eagles in the distance (at 6:10 pm). It appeared they were going to pass to the north of my house when suddenly they were pushed by a nice north wind right over my backyard. They soared low for a couple of minutes then continued their journey westward. What a great way to end the day!
