I agree the 2nd shot is great.
This is you best photo so far this year.
I would like to say I am very jealous
However I would also like to say congradulations.
Great find.  I know this was a big goal for you. As I'm sure it is for many birders.
You always find an Owl near your house AFTER you drop me off after spending a whole day of looking for them hours away from your house.
Maybe next time I'll just go birding in Hamilton!!  :D
Congrats again Crystal.
Now take me here!!

If you are right at the liftbridge, dont forget to look for the 2 Peregrines that live there. The nestbox is on the Burlington Tower. If you look from the Hamilton side from the parking area up to where the windows are on the Burlington Tower is you should see it. They also like to hang out on the big hydro towers. Also something to look for while in that area is off of the service road ...there are sometimes good ducks there like Pintails or Scoters.

Great catch of the saw-whet.

The area around the lift-bridge is actually great for birding, especially as winter settles in. Van Wagners beach right next to it, is probably one of the best spots for Jaegers and rare gulls.

Not far away is Lasalla Marina, where there about a hundred trumpeter swans and lots of interesting ducks in the winter. I've often seen the WW Scoters just off the pier. You'll have to likely pick a weekday, since human traffic there will drive them away.
