I took these pictures Monday and Tuesday this week.  The first 10 pics are mondays and the next few are Tuesdays.  Let me know if you think it is definitely two differnet barred owls.  The first one seems to be more bulky and lighter in colour than the second.

Enjoy

I was on an Owl website last night and it said that when owls are more relaxed or sleeping their feathers may be puffed out.  That could be what it is but i'm still pretty sure they are two different owls.  To make it easier to compare i added a couple pics here instead of having to go to my website.  For the entire series go to my weblink above.

Great find by the way I love the flight shot, you should post the last flight shot on your site here it's really good!

Looks like two different owls to me.  I saw the second one, but the first looks different.  Have you taken good pics of the Great Horned there?

Thanks for the comments

I have gone there looking for the great horned owl for the past year and have never seen it.  Then all of a sudden i see this barred owl and the same day i finally saw the great horned high up in one of the pine trees but i couldn't get a very good shot of it.

They look quite different, but the first has its feathers puffed and the second doesn't.  It's hard to say with that plus the different lighting if it's really two different individuals.  Although the feathers aren't in exactly the same position, I think I'm seeing very similar wear marks on the tip of the tail.

Nice find and nice captures!
