Here is a link to Lynde Shores Conservation area in Whitby, which encompasses the Cranberry Marsh.

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s ... 61626&z=15

Coming from Toronto, exit south on Salem and then turn east (left) onto Bayly.  When you get to Halls Road turn right and then pull into the off-road parking about 2/3 the way down to the end to walk into the Hawkwatch/Marsh viewing platform.  If you continue past Halls Road east on Bayly you'll come to the main parking lot for the conservation area and a good launch point for a walk that takes you through mixed bush and field habitat.  A little further east on Bayly and you'll come to Brock St. turn right here and you'll cross Pringle Creek and if you stop at the bridge will have a nice look out onto a mudflat for shorebirds.

There are more places to view in Whitby (and in Ajax).  If coming from Toronto, stop at Rotary Park in Ajax.  The Hudsonian Godwit was still feeding near the mouth of Duffin's Creek last night.

Best regards,

Pruss
