Found this guy today at Marie Curtis Park in Etobicoke.
Thanks to Irene who told me (months ago) he was there.
A brighter day would have made it much better. But a great find indeed.

These guys are very difficult to get a shot of.  You are getting all kinds of great finds.

Meg ... Wow, lucky you getting to see and take photos of a female Belted Kingfisher!  :D

I've only ever seen two ... one at Lake Wabukayne and one at High Park.  Both of these were years ago.  Usually see the males.

way to go Meghan! great shots!

earlier this year we had about 5 of them hanging around Marie Curtis Park.
the odd time i still hear the chatter but hardly ever see them.

Tuesday night, my hubby and I were out for a shoot, he wanted to shoot some night shots (slow exposure stuff) and as we walked back to the car right in the Etobicoke Creek was a Great Blue Heron munching away on some fish! i was shocked as it was the first time i had seen one at the park.
I wonder if they travel from park to park looking for food?

Ladies...Thanks to all of you. I'm glad you enjoyed these pictures.
Irene, thanks again for letting me know she was there.
I'll probably do the Lakefront round again this week, especially now that you say there is a GBH there. I am completely addicted to photographing those birds.  :D
Moira; with so much time off in the week I figured I have no excuse! I am completely loving getting out and photgraphing birds. Except for the price of gas it's a really cheap hobby ( camera equiptment aside :) )
Thanks Egret, always nice to hear from you.
Jo-Anne, Irene is my luck, she recommended the park to me months ago. I love these guys but goodness are they fast!. I didn't even try to take a picture of her grabbing the fish out of the water I just stayed focused on the branch I hoped she would return to. It worked this time.  :D
Crystal, my biggest fan. I'm glad you like the "do"
