The highlight of the CCFEW Bird Walk this morning at Humber Bay was an adult male Harlequin Duck at Humber Bay Park
West.  It was close to shore near the Gazebo in front of the Grand Harbour condominium.

Most of the typical winter waterfowl are also present.  The Harlequin  was feeding by itself, near some Buffleheads, but not really associating  with them.  Also in that bay were lots of Redheads staying close to shore, a few Goldeneyes, and a large raft of scaup off the west end of Humber Bay Park West.

There were 3 Black-crowned Night Herons, a Greater Black-backed Gull, a couple of Black Ducks, and a small flock of Green-winged Teal just to the east at the mouth of Mimico Creek.  Two Great Blue Herons were found at Humber Bay East.

The Harlequin Duck continues to be seen at Humber Bay West. Bluffs Birder and I saw it from the gazebo, behind the condos. It was in among the docks, and was able to disappear quite easily. Several Redheads,a Goldeneye,a dozen Green-winged Teal, several Hooded Mergansers, many Gadwall,a few American Wigeons,Longtailed Ducks,a Norhtern Shovelor and Bufflehead were seen at Humbers West and East. We watched an adult Peregrine Falcon perch in a Poplar tree on the east side for 10-15min. A Northern Mockingbird was seen. In all a good day. We also noticed alot of lost dogs...they must have been lost as they were running all over by themselves.
