Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress.  Laugh, eat, be merry.  Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.

I agree Irene, I am not an expert either. I just figured they all had started heading to Mexico for the winter.
Something I would LOVE to do as well.  :D
Hopefully this guy will make it out of here in time.
I think everything is a little confused after all this wonderful November weather we have been having.
Enjoy it!

I've never heard of a December monarch sighting in Toronto but I was in Niagara Falls in early Dec of 2001(?) for a 2 night stay and saw a monarch on Dec 5. The trip, with a group, was planned weeks earlier and we REALLY lucked in with the weather, temp 18C, people in shorts and tees, etc.! Probably should have reported it to somebody but it didn't occur to me at the time. Monarchs have been seen at Point Pelee in Dec but such sightings ARE extremely rare.
