Hello everyone~

Have two ID questions that I would like your help with.
This first one is an owl I saw in April in the Leslie Split. I'm not sure if its a Long-Eared or a Great-Horned.

This second one is a chickadee I saw a few weeks ago in Thickson Woods. I'm pretty sure its a Black-Capped, but this one just looked weird. It was about three times the size of a normal chickadee, especially the neck area, almost looked like it could barely fit into its plummage. Your thoughts on this one would be helpful.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hey!!

Nice Long Eared Owl.  We had one hunting on our street a few years back.. I believe it was the subject of my very first post/thread.

The Facial disks are shaped differently and the Tufts on the Owls head are Wider on a Great Horned.. Although you cannot really see this in your photo..

The Black cap looks like it has a Tumor on its neck? Or is it just the wind? I saw something in a recent thread about  "Bot Flys"

was kinda gross but it doesn't look the same..

I added two links for a better comparison

Thank you for the reply Napper :D I thought the owl might have been Long-Eared, but needed some confirmation, so thank you for the fast reply. And I dont think the chickadee was the wind, it seemed reeeeeaaaalllyyyy fat for its size and appeared a lot rounder and bigger than the rest.
