A couple from Presqu'ile today.

This one was snoozy....

This one was distracted by another one calling to it from a nearby tree...

Paul - glad you enjoyed them.  They sure do look neat and full of character.

Misty - it most certainly was!  First there was silence, then from almost directly behind me, say about the 4 o'clock position, I heard the other one call and that was when this one looked in its direction.  Wish I would have had my recorder with me, would have made for some interesting audio!

Clemens - thanks, your comments are always welcome and appreciated.

Attila ... awesome photos!

I especially like your first photo with the owl having a little nap.  Very cute!  :D

Hey there Jo-Anne, thanks for you comment!  It was amazing to see it catching 40 winks in the middle of the day, completely undisturbed by people but focused on the sounds of the grasslands surrounding it.

Very nice Attila.  I especially like the second shot, with a great look at the coloration/feathers.

Thanks for your comment Moira, glad you enjoy the shot!  I agree, the colouration on the back of the bird is certainly unique with the interspersing of white bars on the brown background.
