while braving the cold this morning,i spotted 2 coyotes,as soon as i pulled into the humber west parking lot.myself, and a couple of joggers were standing on the foot bridge that crosses the humber, and watched these guys for at least 10 min.i suddenly realised, why i was cold! my coat,gloves,etc... were still in the van,and my fingers were numb, from holding the camera .heading back to the van,one of the coyotes stepped out on the foot path, about 30 ft.,in front of me.we looked at each other, and then he went back to the other one, which was still by the river.(i probably didn,t look appetizing enough).pics to follow, once processed.

Read your other posting first Denis.  What a surprise that must have been.  Great sighting.

yes moira. no one was more surprised than me,to have a coyote,in broad daylight,in the city, walk right out in front of me!i kinda stepped back, and thought briefly about that girl(singer),out in NFL,i believe, that got attacked, and killed by coyotes, which is unheard of.

The incident you refer to was in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park - the Skyline Trail, which is down the road from my brother-in-law's.  We hike that every summer, looking for moose (which we always see there).  It was a shock to hear that report.
