Glad to see you found a Barred finally.
It was  a little tougher today!

Thanks for the comments.  Murray: it only took from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to find one (and only one today!)  I decided to get out of the car, walk and scour the woods.  This is how I found the Pileated Woodpecker, which was what I really wanted a picture of, but it was so quick I couldn't get a shot at it.  I saw a group from Grimsby, who had found the owl at Chatterton's Point (facing the lake).  It was very quiet there today.  Have to try somewhere different tomorrow - maybe Al's wood duck???

Moira,
Great photo's.
I can never find the Grosbeak.
Barred Owls, every time.
But never the Grosbeak.
I think he's only at the feeder when I am not there.  :D

Meghan:  I felt the same way about the Grosbeak.  He was not there when I went and others had told me it's always at the feeder.  I waited and waited and then sat in my van eating my pb&j sandwich and finally saw the hint of red in the bush beside the feeder.  I ditched my sandwich, got back outside and he was happy to stay for quite some time.  A gentleman who lives nearby told me he's always there at noon.  It definitely is luck.  On the Sunday, there were 2 barred owls very out in the open, right by the road.  There were quite a few photographers.  I went back Monday, hoping for better lighting and couldn't find any.  I spent the majority of the day driving and walking about and finally saw one late in the afternoon.  Patience is not a virtue that I come by naturally, but I'm trying!
