At least one of the lingering Great Blue Herons has persevered through the latest cold snap. I saw one early this morning at the mouth of Mimico Creek.

Thanks for the report Brian.
I'd love to see a GBH in winter.
Which park were you in?

You are correct Denis.
If you look north from the single-arch footbridge toward Lake Shore Blvd, there's always some open water near the bridge over Lake Shore Blvd. That's where I saw it.
It's also a good place to find Black Ducks and Green-winged Teal through the winter.

Thanks Denis and Brian,
I just thought he may be a little farther upstream where the bakery dumps warm water into the creek.
I was down there Thurday looking, but could not locate him.
I'll try again next week.
Thanks again for the heads up on where I can find a GBH in January.

I saw a GBH on 1/17, in the Don River just south of the bridge that is on the Bayview Bloor exit off the DVP.
