Having to work during the week now is putting a serious cramp in my birdwatching time so this morning was especially nice. I caught up with the resident pileated woodpecker whose portrait I posted a few months ago, AND, I found one of her favourite trees. She flew off before I could get any shots but I will stake out the tree and will post when successful. I still think they sound like a half-mad laughing monkey...
A bonus was two Hairy WP's in a nearby tree which I hope are also permanent residents though they were too high for my little 300mm to take advantage of.
At the feeders the number of juncos is up to about 30ish (hard to count), a dozen or so chickadees, pair of cardinals, two white throated sparrows, a few jays and a WB Nuthatch.
