Thanks to Colin for letting us know that this bird is at High Park. They were really nice to see (no offense, but these guys are more cute than the harlequin ducks).

Nice shots - not sure I agree (except for the female Harlequin which is pretty blah)

Nice shots of these funny looking ducks (the name is so appropriate). These are on Grenadier pond I take it? May have to head over this weekend...

Well done Yogi ...I agree in regards to the attractiveness of this Duck, I have not seen the Harly live so I cannot compare but the Shovellers are pretty!

correct. i saw them on the part where the larger part of the pond starts to narrow a little bit. there was a metal black fence that was leaning to the side and there's a bit of grass that the ducks were swimming around....

the pond kind of goes from being synthetic/concrete to being a real pond at this point.

people are (sadly) hand-feeding the ducks and the shovelers are still a little tentative and won't swim close to the shore. i assume this behaviour will be eliminated as more people feed them.

the harlies are back, apparently.
they are nice. cute. look gentle.
but the wood duck is more beautiful, with the shoveler being #2 and harlie being #2 (IMO)
