Had a great weekend with a lot of time spent at the High Park. I got lucky with the wood duck after a long long time.

Some samples for your valuable C/C.

Lovely close shots !!
Vince and I were there this morning looking for Northern Shovellers ,  and saw two male Wood Ducks and one female along the way. There were many Northern Shovellers - both male and female . There was also one Scaup (lesser I think)  and of course the usual Swans and mallards.

Thank you very much.

Yes got some nice ones of the shoveler too. Surprisingly the shovelers turned out to be more shy than the wood ducks. Have not got good angles of the shovelers. Got a distant shot of a white breasted nuthatch. ALso got some good ones of the cardinal, cowbird and the downy woodpecker.

Shall post some later.
Yogi, I know you love photography, if any of those small guys are in your wish list, definitely position yourself next to the bush on the road, close to the south entrance parking. People leave some food on the sidewalk for birds and all of them come up close and nice. The nuthatch was a bit elusive though. The woodpecker started getting playful and kept bumping into a person using flash. Maybe he does not like paparazzis!
