Today while looking for Northern Flicker Nesting Holes, I stumbled upon 2 Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers. The female bird was very shy, however the male was the opposite. I was able to get so close to it, I could have touched it if I wanted to (but I would rather not). The birds were around for at least 5 hours eating on the same tree and at the same spot on the tree. These birds are great for pictures because they are so close and the male is very still. I wish I had my camera

I also saw Male and Female Wood Ducks perched in the top of a tree, 5 or more Flickers, and 1 Hairy Woodpecker. Good day of birding.

The birds were seen at Beamer Conservation Area in Grimsby.
