Nice shots. I believe that is a Male Yellow Shafted Northern Flicker. I got a similar shot at Rattray Marsh last week

We saw a pair of them today to at the Humber Arboretum,  no pics though, but it was nice to see them, as it's been a while.
Rob saw one at Lambton on Thursday too.

Moira, the Pileated may still be at the Woods although I have not seen her in weeks. This happens every year. Once the warmer weather arrives she/they disappear. Perhaps the increase in people using the park causes her to stay deeper in the woods. Either that or they move north and return again in late fall. Also most of the Downies and Hairies have moved deeper as well. The Red-bellied is still there.

I saw him on Thursday.  I wasn't sure at first, didn't have the binoculars, but caught him on camera.  The Flicker, the Red Bellied and the Sapsucker were all in the same area, at the same time.  It was quite noisy.  Funny seeing all them and not one Downy or Hairy.  Yet, I am 5 mins away and I have a pair of both daily now.  Nature is strange at times...   :?
