this member of the rail family,is very timid,and also very quick.they move through thick vegation,quite easily.took these at cranberry marsh,this morning.sat quietly for at least 1 hr.to get these.

Hey great pics never seen one or even heard of that bird before.  I don't mind sitting and waiting awhile either.  Depends work great on those days where you have to sit and wait a long time to get your pic.

was my first time seeing one also.i had never heard of them till i saw one.
thanks yogi.
they look funny,but are beautiful,and fun to watch as they walk on top of the vegetation with ease.

Great capture and species, still haven't seen one of these guys yet but if their like the other rails not an easy task to get a clean image. Have a great weekend
