Hello fellow birders my name is William Corrigan and I am an expirienced young birder from Mississauga. For those of you who know what the World Series of Birding is I have been selected as one of 5 teenagers from across North America (I am almost 15 years old) to represent the American Birding Association Tropicbirds team competing in that event on May 15 in Cape May, NJ and I am in a rush to get a scope. I recently ordered the Brunton Eterna 20-60x80 ED Angled but i recieved note today that it was out of stock and the factory had none either. Would anybody have any recommondations for a good scope in the price range of $300-$900? I am also looking at buying used so if anybody is selling or knows someone that is then could you please notify me ASAP. I thought about Pelee Wings but I won`t be able to get down there until after the World Series of Birding. For more information about me you can see a photo and a short biograpghy (scroll over photo) of me at their website http://www.aba.org/yb/tropicbirds/photos.html

Thanks for the help,

William Corrigan

I cant help you with scope information William but congratulations on your selection and participation at the World Series next month.  I looked around the link you provided and it looks like you are going to have the time of your life.  Let us know how you made out when you get back home.  All the best!

Thanks Scott I am very happy to be able to compete in this event with such a skilled group of young birders. I have never been to new Jersey so I expect I will see many new and exciting birds. When I get back I will be writing an article for the South Peel Naturalists Club Newsletter so I will definitely post the article here! I will also take photos of the event and post here. If you or anybody would like to follow the event on May 15 then you can visit the American Birding Association's blog for young birders called the Eyrie. Visit throughout the day for updates on how we are doing. You can visit the blog here http://birding.typepad.com/youngbirders/
