I was there briefly today. Didn't see the regulars (Big Frank avec Walter) but I did see some birdies.

My favourite was my first spotting of a white-throated sparrow. It was as untimid as I've ever seen a bird. I was 1.5 feet away from it and it cared not. I watched it forge on an evergreen for 10 minutes. Very nice.

I heard two flickers on the southeast part of the park, but didn't catch a good glimpse.

I also heard and saw two birds that looked like flickers minus the speckled breast. Not sure what they were, but I am certain they were not flickers and were part of the extended "woodpecker" family.

No sign of the screech owl (I assume someone scared it off). there were some swallows diving on the bluffs but I couldn't tell what type they were.

I was around from about 715am till 11am and there were a ton of White-throated Sparrows singing early in the morning. Was great to hear them. Saw a Black-crowned Night Heron fly past, the first Ive seen this year. Saw a Sharpie,Cliff Swallows migrate past,Tree Swallows, the most Yellow-rumped Warblers Ive seen in some time, the first Palm Warbler Ive seen at the park this season too. There were also many Hermit Thrushes. I saw a few Field Sparrows,Chipping Sparrows and a Tree Sparrow. A few small flocks of Blue Jays passed over too.  I saw about 40species in the park.

"To be a better nature photographer, be a better naturalist. The more you know about nature, the more you will see to photograph. Develop a deeper compassion for the world around us, and live by an ethic of concern for the subject matter."

I have been to Rosetta once and met Big Frank. I didn't get the chance to say it was a pleasure to meet Big Frank. His knowledge of the park is invaluable.
