Took the day off work today and walked down to Bluffers Park. Saw a pair of canvasbacks, a pair of kingfishers, an orchard oriole, several trumpeter swans, the mockingbirds, and an assortment of the other usual birds. All types of swallows were putting on a show, especially along the cliff face. But my favourite sighting was of a screech owl in a nest box.
I would love to post a photo of the owl in a posting in the photo corner, but can't find the instructions on how to embed it in my posting (the FAQs say you can only do it by a link - but everyone seems to embed in the posting). Can anyone tell me how to do it?
Also heard and say lots of bull frogs, a snapping turtle and a painted turtle.
